Why we built Provarium

Mission-driven capital deserves a closed-loop operating layer

We started Provarium because the organizations that move mission-driven capital — NGOs, foundations, sponsoring entities, and the giving platforms that aggregate them — are running on a stitched-together stack: a CRM here, a checkout there, a spreadsheet for reconciliation, a PDF for impact. The loop never closes. Engagement is divorced from outcome.

The work is the operating layer: one distribution surface across once-off, subscription marketplace, and DAF; one ledger that audits and records impact by construction; one council that governs the whole flow; one segmentation layer that closes the loop back into engagement. Open by schema. Sovereign by design. Read a decade from now without ceremony.

Principles

How we decide what to build

Six principles anchor every decision — from the schema of an instrument to the signature on a motion. Each is architectural, not aspirational.

Ledger of record

A ledger is not a workflow tool. It is a record that outlives the software that wrote it. Provarium is built to be read a decade from now.

Shareholder voice is structural

Voice is not a survey, a comment field, or an annual letter. It is a first-class object, held by principals, exercised in council.

Evidence by construction

Evidence is not produced at audit. It is produced at the moment of action — and the ledger is the auditor.

Sovereign by design

Data residency, key custody, and jurisdictional controls are not add-ons. They are the ground plan.

Principals before platforms

The principal is the customer. The platform serves the principal — not the other way around. Every feature carries a principal’s signature.

Open by schema

Instruments, motions, and positions are described in open schemas. Your auditors, counsel, and accountants plug in.

Three commitments are reviewed independently and documented at provisioning. None of them are roadmap items.

Sovereign data residency

Each council’s data is held in the jurisdiction agreed at provisioning. Documented per principal.

Independently audited cryptography

Signatures, identities, and witness records reviewed by independent cryptographic counsel.

Counsel-reviewed instruments

Instrument schemas — grants, loans, equity, milestone covenants — reviewed by jurisdictional counsel.
